Bio
Ángela Echánove is based in Madrid, after living twelve years in Southeast Asia—an experience that transformed her way of seeing and feeling the world. Ángela has a Masters Degree in Physics and, after a successful career in the Oil & Gas industry, decided to become a photographer, this being her real passion. Her education and professional background had little to do with photography, yet through it she discovered an expressive and artistic side of herself that she had not known, and which she has been able to cultivate over time. The exciting streets of Asia, coupled with its mix of tradition and modernity, the thriving society and warmth of the welcoming communities are her inspirations and fulfill her love for people, traveling and storytelling. The camera became a way to preserve and share what she experienced. Constantly evolving as a photographer, she continues to explore different paths, from documentary and travel photography to architectural work and creative black-and-white editing. Her work has received several awards and recognitions, she has taken part in various competitions and exhibitions, and she collaborates regularly with associations around the world.
